New Features

  • The Groundplan integration with Fergus is live! count, measure and calculate your Fergus Favourites in Groundplan then push your quantities to a new or existing quote back to Fergus.

  • We have introduced a new PDF integration for New Zealand: Ken's Plumbing Supplies.

  • We have also released a new PDF integration for the UK: Plumbfix.

  • With the Fergus Go app, you can now sign up for Fergus directly from the app.

  • Our customers can now import jobs and their associated customers from GeoOp.

  • Fergus Pay Embedded Onboarding is now live. Customers wanting to sign up can now onboard without leaving Fergus Web.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Users can now switch between companies or sign up for a new company using the same email address. To do this, simply disable your account with the previous company and create a new account for the new company using the same email address. After this, you will receive an email to reset your password, enabling you to log in again and complete the transition to the new company.

  • When creating a Customer/Site Contact, the first contact field now defaults to Mobile Phone instead of landline phone.

  • Users will see their MYOB invoices sync to Fergus faster! we have increased the frequency of MYOB invoice syncing from daily to every 12 hours (2am and 2pm).

  • Fergus Go v1.39.0

    • We are excited to announce that users can now create Variations in Fergus Go. There is a new "Create Variation" option located above the existing list of Variations on the Job screen.

    • Additionally, line item descriptions can now extend over multiple lines, making it easier for users to view distinguishing features in lengthy descriptions.

    • - A fix has been implemented for the Time Entries screen, which was previously stuck in a loading loop.

    • - We resolved a problem where duplicate Form Template options were appearing in Fergus Go.

Now it's faster to:

  • Now it is faster to load the "In Progress" column of the status board - specifically the "Job Phases not Started"

  • Performance improvement to a query in supplier docs used to get the last uploaded time for a received merchant document.

New Features:

  • Smartly Integration is live! This integration will enable all NZ customers with Professional accounts to use Smartly for their payroll using timesheet data from Fergus.

  • Health & Safety & Hazards are now available on the latest FergusGo release.

  • The Electrical Installation Certificate Report (EICR) is a highly requested certificate from our UK customers.

  • Historically, customer export CSV files have only included name, contact and address. To help with this, we have added four columns to the customer export CSV.

    1. Custom charge-out rate

    2. Materials discount

    3. Labour discount

    4. Custom tax rate

  • Users who have their emails bounced can now unblock themselves by navigating to the resubscribe page and entering the email there. This information and link will be included in the error message inside the Notes & History logs.

  • The Enquiries feature has been released! This new feature for Web & Fergus Go allows our users to receive enquiries through their website or share a contact form and easily convert received enquiries to jobs! On Web & Go Enquiries includes the ability to:

    • View enquiries

    • Create manual enquiries

    • Publish and embed a contact form onto a customer's website

    • Upload & view photos attached to enquiries

    • Ability to convert enquiries into jobs with just one click

    • Receive notifications for new enquiries

    • Reply to enquiries through email and mark them as contacted/rejected

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Fergus Go Version v1.32.0 ​:

    • When creating a time entry for another user, the selected user will no longer revert to the logged-in user

    • Job Site contact details are now displayed on Job Phase screens rather than the default contact for the Site

    • The app will no longer become unresponsive after the in-app review prompt modal is dismissed

    • Multi-entry elements in Certificates will now be ordered correctly

  • Bug Fix for Fergus Pay is live. The onboarding modal that appears after signup now correctly shows region-specific processing fees.

  • The group tracking dropdown being hidden below the Cancel / Create Job bottom bar has now been fixed.

  • Our 21 NECA SWMS Forms have been updated to optimise the mobile use experience within the forms.

  • Some Fergus Go sign-up-related improvements & fixes have been released:

    • Now the new in-app sign-up shows up for users that have just downloaded the app.

    • The location permissions pop-up that shows up after sign-up has been removed, users will now have to go to the Menu screen -> Location settings to toggle this on.

  • A fix for Enquiries has been released for Fergus Go:

    • Enquiries created outside of NZ no longer use the NZ timezone for showing dates.

Now it's faster to:

  • Invoice from costs/quote - Performance fix for the “Invoice from Costs” and “Invoice from Quote”.

  • Interact with recurring events in the calendar -Performance enhancement for the calendar query that retrieves recurring events

  • Load the integration page - Performance enhancement to improve the integration page load times.

  • Receive a merchant document - Performance enhancement for merchant documents. Particularly in areas of the application where users are loading large amounts of received merchant documents

New Features:

  • Purchase Orders - When creating an order type of "price" the generated PDF will display "Pricing Request" instead of Purchase Order.

  • Supplier Documents page design update -

    • New Pop-up Modal for Invoice Assignment: A new pop-up modal will appear when assigning an invoice. This modal includes a checkbox that allows users to save their selected option as the default action for future use.

    • Updated Success Message: The success message has been updated to include a link to the job and the accounting package name if it has been sent.

    • New Button to Change Default Action: A new button has been added to the page. This button opens a pop-up that allows users to easily change their default action settings as needed.

  • More transparency in our email delivery logs - Now you can see the status of an email live.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Fix for certificate corruption - We now prevent users from saving certificates when the certificate has an error. Additionally, the entire certificates screen will no longer crash when there is a corrupted certificate on the job, instead those corrupted certificates are hidden.

  • Show the total hazard count on the web sidebar - We now show the total amount of hazards even if the hazard has been mitigated.

Fergus Go V1.31.1

  • New functionality to the Scheduled and Assigned lists of the Home tab - Users (with the appropriate permission) will be able to select a staff member and the Scheduled and Assigned lists will update to reflect the selected staff member's schedule.

  • You can now change the assigned users when creating a custom event in Fergus Go.

Fergus Go V1.27.0

  • We’ve added more quick actions to the “+ Add…” button on Jobs and Job Phases.

  • In the search screen, you can now filter search results to display or hide Active, Archived, or Completed Jobs.

  • Tapping on notifications relating to tasks will now navigate to the relevant task list.

  • The Home screen job lists now automatically refresh whenever they are re-visited to ensure you have access to up-to-date information.

  • We’ve updated the time picker when creating/editing a time entry, Android users will now be able to use the clock face time picker.

  • We’ve redesigned the display of line items in Favourites, Stock Used, Quotes, Invoices, and Purchase Orders to increase the number of line items you can see on screen.

  • Photos and Videos taken via Fergus Go will now automatically be saved to your device’s camera roll. This can be disabled via the settings menu in the app.

  • Customer and site imports from Tradify and ServiceM8 have been released! This allows new Fergus users to more easily migrate their customers and site information from Tradify or ServiceM8. The feature is accessible through the customers page and clicking on the top right dropdown.

  • Released a bug fix for certificates not being able to be printed through Adobe Reader. New certificates completed on web will be able to be printed through Adobe Reader. If a user wants to print a certificate that was completed in the past, they can duplicate the cert and then complete it again on web. If a user completes a certificate on Fergus Go, the PDF still isn't able to be printed through Adobe, but a fix here is on the way as well.

Updates to the Generic PDF Reader so that:

  • Invoices assigned to a Job will reflect the extracted merchant name instead of previously showing Generic PDF Invoice Reader

  • Invoices in Xero will show the extracted merchant name instead of the Generic PDF Invoice Reader

  • Queensland customers can now easily create, store, manage, and send compliance and safety certificates via Fergus. Having the right certificates and staying on top of compliance is necessary to trades businesses.

  • Users building forms can hide fields they do not need, leading to them being able to send out shorter & tidier PDFs to their customers! Conditions can be set up through editing a form template and then clicking on the "Conditions" button.

  • Fergus Go v1.26.0 includes:

  • Enabled the creation of and editing of Custom Events

  • Revised the display of the timesheet to display more information

  • Addition of the Customer name and Site address

  • More differentiation between expected time entries and actual time entries

  • Tighter display of all items to allow more items to be visible within the viewport

  • Enabled copying of site and contact details from the Job and Job Phase screens

  • Fixed an issue related to date selection in Certificates

  • Improved file management options in the Files & Photos section of the Job Card, to allow users to sort files, bulk delete, and download files as a zip.

  • Add a CSV download option to all reports, so that Fergus customers can export data to manipulate via a spreadsheet tool.

  • A new Generic PDF reader for supplier documents and sub-contractor invoices is now available in all regions (UK, Australia, and New Zealand). Any PDF invoice can be dragged & dropped into the supplier documents screen or sent to Fergus via the Generic PDF reader email address.

  • Updated all NZ Certificates to use progressive disclosure, where optional sections of the certificate are only displayed when required.

  • When the logged-in user doesn't have permission to sign and complete a certificate, a tooltip is present to direct people to the place where they can change these permissions.

  • Video upload is available on Fergus Go and Fergus Web. Fergus allows three videos per job, where each video is a maximum of 30 seconds long.

  • Added permission to our Xero integration to send original supplier invoice files to Xero automatically. This saves our customers time, they no longer have to manually upload supplier invoices to their Xero account.

  • Photos uploaded to forms on Fergus web are now compressed. This means that form PDFs with photos in them will have a smaller file size.

  • Make the customer screen status board filter by the customer only (don't continue to apply the employee filter used on the home screen).

  • Improved the instructions sent from Fergus by email to manage connectivity issues caused by Xero revoking access to the Fergus application.

Australian electricians can use the Fergus email ingestion feature to get PDF invoices automatically imported into Fergus and matched to the right jobs to cut manual entry. Users also have the option to drag and drop PDF invoices into Fergus via the Supplier Docs tab.

New Features

  • Tasks are now available in the Fergus Go mobile app. View all your tasks, create new ones, and complete them on the go. You can also see which Job a Task is related to at a glance. To begin, tap on Menu > Tasks.

Feature Improvements

  • Added improvements to the create job function on the Fergus Go mobile app.

    • Add the ability to add the following when creating a job:

      • Job title

      • Customer order number - optional

      • Assign a user group - optional

      • Job descriptions are now optional

    • You can now add a physical address when creating a new customer

      • Physical addresses can be re-used in the site address field

      • Typed in addresses will auto-populate from Google

    • When creating a job for an existing customer, you can now:

      • View and apply previous customer site addresses

      • Copy from physical address

      • Add an address manually (auto-populated by Google)

Feature Improvement

  • Previously, when tradespeople modified the sales code of an item in their custom price book, downloaded it as CSV, and re-uploaded, the sales codes would not be re-uploaded to Fergus. It's now an option to re-upload price books with sales codes.

  • Added functionality & controls for Job Cards, including:

    • See the full title when creating or editing a title.

    • Update customer & contact details and add additional contacts straight from the header

    • Update site & site contact details straight from the header

    • Job settings are now clearly indicated (replaces the ... symbol)

    • Keep your Job Card view tidy with collapsible sections

  • Updated the Create Job page to make creating jobs quicker. Your jobs will now be set to Charge Ups by default. Need a Quote or Estimate instead? Click on the toggle to choose that option.

  • For Fergus / NECA members in ACT, NSW, QLD & TAS: NECA members can now edit and customise NECA SWMS as needed. To get started, go to Forms under Settings and click on the 3 dots on the right to Duplicate. Duplicated forms can then be edited. To learn more, see our video walkthrough.

New Features

  • Invoicing & Scan to Pay (on-site credit card payments) are now live on the Fergus Go mobile app! Create a quick invoice on the go, add labour & materials, then approve and send to your customer. Collect payment on-site with Scan to Pay.

    • Fergus Pay (credit card payments feature, free to set up, processing fees apply) must first be enabled to have Scan to Pay.

    • Get set up in minutes. Setup for Fergus Pay must be completed on desktop (Settings > Fergus Pay).

    • If you cannot see Scan to Pay yet, you may need to log out of Fergus Go and back in for the feature to activate.

    • H&S Electrical Wholesalers (UK)

    • Metroll (AUS)

  • Tradespeople can now automatically import invoices from these suppliers into Fergus. To get set up, go to the Integration Centre under Settings > search for your supplier > click on the Configuration tab > Enable invoice email integration.

  • Alternatively, users can drag-and-drop or directly import supplier invoices themselves on the Supplier Docs page.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • The following fixes and improvements have been released for the Fergus Go mobile app:

    • Set the material sales account as the default sales account for a new line item

    • Fixed an issue where users were unable to add time entries when the Job Phase was not invoiced from the Time Entries screen

    • Fixed an issue where users were able to add time entries to Job Phases that were invoiced from the Timesheet screen

    • Fixed an issue where Tradesperson users could not access Purchase Orders

    • Autofill the supplier email when emailing a Purchase Order

      • Note: Tool Station invoices include promotional discounts listed as Iine items. These discounts cannot be applied. As a Fergus user, you will need to update the invoice on the Fergus Supplier Docs page.

    • Superlec Direct (UK)

  • CSV invoice integration is also now available for Gordon Macdonald Electrical (NZ).

  • Tradespeople can now automatically import invoices from these suppliers into Fergus. To get set up, go to the Integration Centre under Settings > search for your supplier > click on the Configuration tab > Enable invoice email integration.

    • restored the display of the day that a time entry begins

    • fixed an issue where the screen would become blank when adding or editing a time entry

UK tradespeople can now drag-and-drop or import these PDF supplier invoices directly from their computer into Fergus via the Supplier Documents section. Note that PDF credit note support is not yet available for these suppliers.

Feature Improvements

  • Added improvements for Jobs, including:

    • the ability to create a Job Phase, even before a Quote/Estimate has been sent or accepted. To start, click Create Job Phase under Job Phases (located bottom left of the Job Card).

    • the ability to change a Job Type from a Charge Up to Quote/Estimate, even after costs have been added or events have been scheduled.

    • changing the Job Type also no longer automatically voids Job Phases.

    • when a Quote/Estimate has not been accepted yet, the Job can be found in the Pricing column of the Status Board and the Job Phase in the column depending on the status of the Job Phase.​

    • alert icons and tooltips are added to indicate the status of the Quote e.g. Quote/Estimate not sent and Quote/Estimate not accepted by customer.

  • PDF invoice integration is now available in Fergus for Park Electrical and BSS. UK tradespeople can now drag-and-drop or import these PDF supplier invoices directly from their computer into Fergus via the Supplier Documents section. Note that PDF credit note support is not yet available for BSS.

  • PDF invoice integration is now available in Fergus for South Australian Plumbing Supplies. Australian plumbers can now drag-and-drop or import these PDF supplier invoices directly from their computer into Fergus via the Supplier Documents section. Note that PDF credit note support is not yet available for South Australian Plumbing Supplies.

Feature Updates

  • As part of next steps to address email deliverability, Fergus has made the following email updates:

    • Remove the BCC field from the create email workflow on desktop and Fergus Go.

    • Retain the ability to add an ongoing BCC in the email settings and limit the number to 6.

      1. Limit the number of email recipients in the To: field to 10.

      2. Limit the number of email recipients in the CC: field to 5.

    • Fixed an issue so that Pay Per User - Essentials plan users can now access Forms

    • Addressed an issue where the Log out button did not respond

    • The country code for Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) setup now defaults to the country of the company

  • Easily add any photo already saved to a Job in Fergus to a NZ Form or Certificate.

Bug Fixes

  • Released bug fixes/improvements for the Fergus Go mobile app, including:

    • Fixed a bug that caused Favourites not to load

    • Fixed a bug that prevented the ability to call phone numbers with spaces

    • Prevent editing of actuals (time entries, stock used, etc) on invoiced Job Phases unless permitted to do so

  • Added improvements and fixes for Files & Photos, including the ability to zoom in further than before on photos and drag and drop photos from Fergus to other programs.

  • Fixed an issue for NZ and UK Certificates involving corrupted completed PDF files.

  • Added the ability to mark Variations as complete when marking a Job as complete, which has a variation with Job Phases marked as invoiced.
