We recommend that you use this simple and secure way of connecting your email provider as an improved alternative to SMTP for Gmail (Google) and Outlook (Microsoft) users.
If you are already connected via SMTP, you do not have to disconnect first. Simply click the button to connect to your email provider and complete the authorisation process.
Connect to Gmail (Google)
First, click on your name/avatar to open the options and then select Settings:
Then select Email from the menu on the left:
On the Email Settings page, scroll down and then click the Connect to Gmail button:
Read the important message about ensuring that you click the box to allow Fergus access. Then click Continue:
Then select the email account you want to connect. You may need to sign in at this point if you are not already:
Read the privacy policy and terms of service, then click continue:
Click on the box to allow Fergus access to send emails on your behalf before you click Continue. If this box is not checked then the process will not work.
The completed connection will show on your Email Settings page. You also have the option to disconnect your email.
Please note that you can not have SMTP enabled and this email connection enabled at the same time:
Connect to Outlook (Microsoft)
First, click on your name/avatar to open the options and then select Settings:
Then select Email from the menu on the left:
On the Email Settings page, scroll down and then click the Connect to Outlook button:
Read the information from Microsoft about what information you are allowing Fergus to access and then click Accept.
The completed connection will show on your Email Settings page. You also have the option to disconnect your email.
