Overview

To ensure your staff members can efficiently log their time and schedule jobs within Fergus, it is essential for them to have a login account. With Fergus, you can easily manage your staff members’ user accounts and provide them with the resources they need to succeed in their roles.

Manage a User

Head to ⚙ Settings > Users and click the name of the user you'd like to manage:

User Details

On this page, you can update user details such as:

  • Changing user type, Username and Password

  • Changing First and Last Name

  • Click the options button (⋯) to disable this user and view the activity log for this user.

  • Click the pencil icon or Edit Avatar to change this user's avatar.

Refer to the section on Adding and Managing Groups for details on how to add this user to a group.

Personal Details

On this page, you will be able to update users' personal details, such as:

  • Update the user's Email address, Mobile Phone number, and Address.

  • Click the + to add additional contact details.

  • View the user's signature.

Notifications

On this page, you have the option to enable or disable mobile and email notifications for the user. After you have checked or unchecked the notification preferences, remember to click the save button.

Settings

In this section, you can explore the miscellaneous settings for this user:

  • Show user in calendar: This setting determines whether or not this user will appear in the scheduling calendar. If this is unticked, you cannot schedule jobs for this user.

  • User can be assigned to jobs: Deselecting this option stops anyone from assigning tasks to this user.

  • User is a Master Admin User: ​Providing Master Admin status to a user enables them to change passwords and permissions for others and appoint additional Master Admins. We recommend that only business owners or account administrators have this ability.

  • Show detailed help text on the status board: When this option is selected, hovering your mouse over each status in the Status Board will display more detailed help text.

Employee Pay

On this page, you will change the user's standard pay rate (per hour) and charge-out rates.

Permissions

On this page, you can set the desired permissions for each user. By checking or unchecking the boxes, you can choose the appropriate permission for every user. To modify the permission:

  1. Click on "Edit Permissions"

  2. Examine the permissions and select or deselect the ones you wish the user to have.

  3. Click on "Update Permissions".
