Managing User Permissions in Fergus

In Fergus, every user is assigned a unique set of permissions that allows for precise control over their access levels. This system enables you to customize what your staff can view and perform within the platform. As a result, you can maintain oversight and effectively manage access to ensure that users have the appropriate permissions for their roles.

Getting Started

To edit user permissions, follow these simple steps:

1. Click on the profile icon in the top right corner to access the Settings menu.

2. From the menu on the left, select Users.

3. Click on the user whose permissions you want to modify.

4. Go to the Permissions tab.

5. Click on the Edit Permissions button in the top right corner.

Understanding Permissions

Let’s take a closer look at how permissions work within our system. We provide a wide range of options, each tailored to meet specific needs and use cases. To simplify your experience, we have categorized these permissions into distinct groups. Feel free to go through each permission and customise it as needed.

To set up user permissions faster you can go to the top-left corner of the edit permissions tab and you'll find the "Copy Permissions From" option, which provides you with two shortcuts:

  1. Default Permission Profiles: We have created pre-set profiles specifically designed for different types of users. Simply choose the one that best suits your needs, and you're all set! You can still make adjustments later if necessary.

  2. Copy an Existing User’s Profile: If you have already set up another user with identical permissions, you can save time by duplicating their settings. This is ideal for multiple users who share similar roles.

Once you’re satisfied with the changes, click on "Update Permissions" in the bottom-right corner. You’re all set!

Please Note: After changing a user's permissions, ask them to log out of Fergus and log back in. This will ensure that they see the updates immediately.

Conclusion

Ensure your team has the appropriate access to Fergus by effectively managing user permissions. By following the steps outlined in this article, you can confidently customize permissions, ensuring that your staff receives the specific level of access they need to succeed in their roles.
