Understanding the Job Summary in Fergus

When managing jobs in Fergus, the Job Summary section is your primary tool for complete visibility and control. In this article, we'll guide you through its features and functions, enabling you to maximise this powerful tool.

Getting started

At the top of the Job Summary, you'll find the customer and site information. This includes the customer's name, contact details, and site address. If you need to make any changes to this information, simply click the "X" button next to the customer or site to select a different one. You can also edit existing details to keep everything up to date.

Managing Job Details

In the job details section, you can manage the core details of the job. This includes the following:

  • Managing Job Phases: In the job phases section, you'll see a list of all job phases, including the status, title, description, total cost and sell price so far, and the creation date. This allows you to easily track the progress of each phase of the job.

  • Managing Variations: The Variations box below lists all variations, similarly to the job phase section. This allows you to keep track of any changes or additions to the job.

In the job details section, you can manage the core details of the job:

  • Job Description: Update the overall description to reflect the work being done.

  • Customer Order Number: Add an order number if needed—this will appear on the customer’s invoice.

  • Budget: Set a budget to help manage costs. Fergus will alert you if the job goes over budget, and display the budget in the overview section of the financial summary

  • Payment Terms: Adjust the payment terms for this specific job.

  • Groups: Assign this job to a specific group for better organisation.

  • Pricing Tier: View the customer's pricing tier.
