Overview

You can upload any CSV price book to Fergus, as long as it has the correct information. For example, a CSV file you've created from scratch in Excel or a price book you've downloaded from an accounting package.

How To Use It

No matter where you get your price book from, ensure your file includes at least these required columns:

  • Product Code

  • Product Description

  • Cost Price

Optional columns you can add that Fergus can read:

  • Sell Price

  • Supplier SKU

  • Additional Search Code

Setting Up Price Books via Email

Some suppliers offer price books delivered directly via email. Here’s how to set it up:

  1. Check Frequency: Ensure your supplier sends the price book periodically (e.g., monthly).

  2. Download the File: If you don’t receive the price book by email, download it from the supplier portal instead.

  3. Upload in Fergus: Go to Settings > Price Books and use the drag-and-drop interface to upload the file manually.

  4. Select Supplier Mapping: For suppliers like "Telfers," choose the supplier name from the drop-down list during the upload process.

Troubleshooting Price Book Uploads

If your price book upload fails, follow these steps:

  1. File Format:

    • Ensure the file is in CSV format. Contact your supplier for a CSV version if necessary.

  2. Verify Data:

    • Confirm that key fields, such as Product Code, are not blank. Missing required fields can cause the upload to fail.

  3. Clear Cache and Update Browser:

    • Log out of Fergus and clear your browser cache (instructions).

    • Update Google Chrome to its latest version (instructions).

  4. Re-Upload:

    • After addressing issues in your CSV file, try uploading it again. If problems persist after attempting the above steps, contact Fergus Support for further assistance.
