Invoice & Payment Notifications

Enable and set up Fergus Pay invoice notifications to get notified when customers view invoices or make payments through the customer portal.

Overview

We've added two new notification types for Fergus Pay users to help you stay informed about customer invoice activity.

Note: These notifications are available exclusively to Fergus Pay users. To set up Fergus Pay, check out our help article.

In this article, we'll cover:


New Notification Types

1. Invoice Viewed Notification

When a customer views an invoice in the customer portal, you'll receive:

  • An in-app notification


    Web:

    Fergus Go:

  • An email notification:


2. Invoice Paid Notification

When a customer pays an invoice through the portal using Fergus Pay, you'll receive:

  • An in-app notification (Desktop & Fergus Go)

  • An email notification


This notification indicates that payment has been made by your customer and its on its way! Standard payout times apply.

How to Enable These Notifications

Follow these steps to set up the new notifications:

Step 1: Grant Notification Permissions

  1. Navigate to Settings in your Fergus account

  2. Select Users from the left hand menu

  3. Click on the user you want to enable notifications for

  4. Go to Permissions

  5. Select Notifications from the list of permissions

  6. Edit the permissions to allow the user to receive notifications for invoices paid and invoices viewed

Step 2: Activate the Notifications

  1. Go to the Notifications tab

  2. Locate the new invoice notification options

  3. Tick the checkboxes to enable the notifications you want to receive
