Overview

Fergus simplifies customer interactions, ensuring they are both easy and effective through our SMS feature. With this feature, you can effortlessly connect with your customers and improve engagement.

Getting Started

To kick things off, it's essential to ensure that SMS functionality is activated. Follow these steps to activate it:

  1. Click the profile icon in the top-right corner and go to Settings.

  2. Navigate to the Integration Centre and scroll down to find SMS.

  3. Follow the steps to enable SMS.

Let's explore the various ways to utilise SMS. First, save time by automating SMS reminders for important events:

  1. Go to Reminders in the Settings menu.

  2. Fergus allows you to automate reminders for:

    • Quote and estimate visits

    • Scheduled job events

    • Overdue invoices

  3. Enable the options you’d like to activate automated messaging for and select the timeframe for when they should send.

In addition to our powerful automation features, you can easily send manual SMS messages from different areas within Fergus. Just locate the SMS icon to send a message to your customer.

Commonly Used Manual SMS Options:

  • Job Phase:

    • You can use the SMS icon in the top-right corner to send the job schedule to your customer.

    • Ensure the job is scheduled first so the text pre-fills with the relevant times!

  • Quotes:

    • Send a manual quote reminder using the SMS icon.

    • This is handy for letting customers know a quote has just been emailed or for following up on older quotes that haven’t been responded to.

  • Overdue Invoice Reminders:

    • If you prefer manual reminders, go to the invoice, click the three dots in the top-right corner, and select “Send Overdue Invoice Reminder SMS.

Pro Tip: For quick custom messages, go to the Job Summary and click the SMS icon next to the customer or site contact. This lets you write a text from scratch and send it immediately.

When a customer responds to your SMS, Fergus will notify you. You can:

  • View their reply in the Notes and History section of the job card.

  • Reply directly from the same section.
