Overview
Hide line items on your quote, estimate and invoice so they don't show on your customer's copy. You can still see all the details, including cost, markup, tax, discounts and combined line items, by opening the document in the builder.
There are two ways to hide line items:
Combine to one line – group items into a single line. Works on Fergus web and in the Fergus Go app.
Hide all line items – hide everything in a section or on the whole document. Fergus web only.
1. Combine to one line
On Fergus Web
Tick the ☑️ checkbox next to the line items you want to combine on your document, and you'll notice the cog ⚙ on the toolbar become visible.
Click the ⚙ cog and select Combine to one line:
You can select all items in a section by ticking the checkbox below the section title.
You can see how the quote, estimate, or invoice will look to your customer by clicking the 👁 Preview button.
In Fergus Go
Tick two or more line items in the same section, or tap Select all.
Give the group a name, e.g. "Materials".
Tap Combine items.
A few things work differently in Fergus Go:
You can only combine items within the same section.
You can't combine a combined line into another one.
Hiding all line items (below) is only available on Fergus web.
2. Hide all line items (Fergus web only)
Sometimes, you don't want anything to appear at all. In this case, you can click the Line Items button beside the section you want to hide and select "Always hide".
You can also click Formatting Options (the pencil icon) to hide all line items on the document.
Syncing to your accounting package
Because hiding line items is a Fergus feature, it isn't supported by any connected accounting package. This means once the invoice syncs across, all line items will be visible. This applies whether you combined the items on Fergus web or in Fergus Go.
If you are sending invoice reminders from your Xero account, we recommend disabling the option to include a copy of the invoice in Xero. This prevents your customer from seeing hidden items.
